Wynne Curry
As a high schooler growing up in Hyde Park, Wynne Curry would venture downtown to Findlay Market with friends to get items for a Saturday afternoon picnic in Eden Park. She was reintroduced to the market in the early 2000s when she would mosey around the market with her dear friend. Both women loved to cook, and they would often buy ingredients together to host dinner parties.
Wynne is an avid shopper of Findlay Market and is enthralled by the European-style food shopping experience of going to different vendors and having a personal connection with them.
“When you shop at Findlay Market, you get to build relationships which makes the experience so much more personal as opposed to shopping at a large grocery chain,” says Wynne.
Jennie Rosenthal, a close friend of Wynne, saw her love and appreciation for Findlay Market and encouraged her to join the Board of Directors - and she did. As a member of the Board, Wynne is chairing a committee that supports the market merchants. She tells us that by advocating for the market merchants, she is learning valuable skills that will help her as a board member.
“The market merchants are the heart and soul of the market. Without them, there would be no Findlay Market,” says Wynne.
As a Board Member, Wynne was on a committee to help plan our annual Flavor of Findlay event. Working behind the scenes, Wynne was able to see how much work goes into putting on such a grand event like Flavor of Findlay.
“There are so many critical moving parts, and it was eye opening to see,” says Wynne.
Flavor of Findlay is a wonderful fundraising event that takes place late in the summer. Wynne loves being able to enjoy a beautiful, balmy September evening with great food, wine and music.
As a retired French professor from Seven Hills School and Cincinnati Country Day, Wynne enjoys getting to devote more time to volunteering and board work.
