Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub
As part of our Greening the Market initiatives, Findlay Market has teamed up with Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub to provide recycling resources to the community and help divert recyclable waste from the landfill. Mark your calendars! We will be collecting hard-to-recycle items on Friday, September 15th and Friday, October 20th from 3p-6p. Bring your hard-to-recycle items to the market and the Hub will ensure these items are properly recycled. Here’s what you can recycle with us this fall:
Plastic straws
Plastic utensils (wrapped and unwrapped)
Kroger brand plastic bags: Kroger Co., Private Selection, Simple Truth, Comforts, HemisFares, Luvsome, Abound
Bread bags: all brands
Contact lens packaging: all brands contact lens packaging, contact lens storage cases, contact lens solution caps, eye drop single-dose units, eye drop bottles
Oral care products: all brands used toothbrushes, empty toothpaste tubes and caps, deodorant containers and caps, empty floss containers, floss picks
#5 Plastic food containers that cannot be recycled curbside (we cannot accept butter, sour cream, yogurt tubs, etc.)
Electronics Recycling
In addition to all the above items, we will be accepting electronics on Friday, September 15th and Friday, October 20th. Recycling electronics requires more time and energy than simpler plastic items, so these items incur a fee when dropped off. The Hub will be tabling with us on those dates from 3p-6p and they’ll be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about their organization, recycling or otherwise. Here are the electronics (and their corresponding fees) we will be accepting this fall:
Batteries ($1 per lb.)
Bulbs ($1 each)
LEDs, incandescents, compact fluorescents, and straight fluorescent tubes (4 ft. and under)
Small general electronics ($10 per person - 2 plastic grocery bags of electronics)
Accepting electronics the size of a shoebox or smaller - ex: phones, tablets, laptops, cables, cords, chargers, wires, irons, curling irons, hair dryers, video game equipment, etc.
