After beginning his professional career managing public housing, he was appointed to Cincinnati City Council in 1989 and was later appointed again in 1998. Paul has been active in numerous community organizations. He has served as President, local branch of the NAACP, and during his presidency, he called for more African-American news anchors on local television stations and more African-American Judges in the courts.
