SNAP Plus, Produce Perks & EBT Resources

The SNAP Plus/Produce Perks program at Findlay Market helps families afford more fresh fruits and vegetables and other healthy food typically found in the Findlay Farmers Market.

Since 2007, low-income shoppers have been able to exchange their EBT dollars for one-dollar brass or yellow plastic tokens that they can spend like cash in our farmers market. Produce Perks enhances this service by providing shoppers a match to their spending. The incentive is a dollar-for-dollar match. Each dollar in SNAP tokens exchanged is matched with a dollar in free Produce Perks fruit and vegetable tokens (up to $25 a day). This effectively doubles EBT shoppers purchasing power of healthy fresh food at the market.

Produce Perks Program also doubles the purchasing power for low-income shoppers – providing a $1 for $1 match for families and individuals receiving SNAP when spent on fresh fruits and vegetables. Findlay Market matches EBT dollars with green tokens worth $1.00 each, which can be used to purchase fresh, local fruits and vegetables sold by local farmers in the Findlay Farmers Market.

HOW?

  • During checkout, the delivery and service fees will be visible in carts, but these fees will be waived at the time of pickup or delivery.

  • An EBT card must be used for at least a portion of the order to have the fees waived.

  • Orders eligible for the waiver must contain SNAP-eligible products.

How SNAP Plus & Produce Perks Programs Work at Findlay Market

  • Take your EBT card to the Education Center (located in the red booth next to the Shed) or the Market Center (located in the center of the market) at Findlay Market. 

  • Hours for the Education Center are:

    • Fridays: 11am-4pm

    • Saturdays: 8am-3pm

    • Sundays: 10am-3pm

  • Hours for the Market Center are:

    • All hours the Market is open

  • You select the amount of EBT dollars you would like to exchange for Gold/Yellow SNAP tokens and are matched dollar for dollar in Green Produce Perks tokens (up to $25/day). For example, if you exchange $5 in EBT dollars for SNAP tokens, you will also receive $5 in Produce Perks tokens for free.

  • Pay for your Findlay Farmers Market purchases with the tokens-- most Findlay Farmers Market vendors will accept them.

    • Yellow tokens can only be used to purchase USDA-SNAP eligible food items at eligible vendors.

    • Green Produce Perks tokens can only be used to purchase fresh, local fruits and vegetables at eligible vendors.
